oh baby!

Seth Godin blogged about the site called "CDbaby" which although it was established in 1998- its new to me. Basically CDbaby is a site where independent musicians can sells their albums, singles, etc.  So- you don't need a record label anymore to get your stuff out there.  Typically, musicians under contract only make $1-$2 per album that is sold.  But through this site, musicians send CDbaby their music, the company digitizes it, and then the artists make $6-$12 per album and are paid weekly. The terms and conditions of CDbaby seem pretty simple.

The company also has sisters sites Hostbaby and Filmbaby with similar concepts.
